Layton Williams teases Strictly Come Dancing pro partner 'reveal' after launch show date announced

Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams has teased fans after almost 'revealing' his professional partner who he will be paired with on the BBC One dance contest. The actor has signed up for the 21st series of the popular show and will join the likes of Love Island star Zara McDermott, Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas and EastEnders' Bobby Brazier to compete for the glitterball trophy.

Fans now don't have long to wait, after it was officially confirmed yesterday (Sept 7) by the BBC that the launch show will air on screens on Saturday, September 16. The famous theme tune will ring out in living rooms up and down the country at 6.35pm, with the episode finishing at 8.20pm.

Viewers will see presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman return alongside judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse. Like previous series, the first episode will see the brand new celebrities welcomed to the Strictly ballroom as viewers will also find out which professional dancer they'll be paired with.

Since this year's cast already know who they've been matched with, they've been teasing fans on social media. Layton, 28, who will make history on the show after he will appear in traditional male outfits as well as dresses, has since tricked fans into thinking he was revealing his pro partner.

Taking to his Instagram today (Sept 7), the Bad Education actor shared a topless photo with a gorgeous face of makeup whilst talking a selfie in the mirror. Sharing the post with his 139,000 followers, he captioned: "Swipe for my #Strictly PRO reveal!."

But lower down the caption then continued: "GOTCHA [wink face emoji].
