Lampard must finally unleash "unstoppable" £9m-rated EFC gem, he's a big Iwobi upgrade - opinion

Everton won their first Premier League game since the beginning of December at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, in a convincing 3-0 win over Leeds United, with the game also the first home league fixture for new manager Frank Lampard.

The Toffees put on an impressive team performance with goals from Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane and Anthony Gordon over the course of the game, and a fantastic all round performance defensively too, with Leeds United unable to register a single shot on target against the side.

Despite the fantastic performance, Anwar El Ghazi failed to make a starting appearance yet again and hasn’t had the opportunity to get into the starting line-up since he joined Everton on loan last month.

In Demarai Gray’s absence after picking up an injury, Lampard chose to play Everton “flop” Alex Iwobi to replace the injured winger in the side, and although it paid off in the game against Leeds United, the out of favour left winger has proven time and time again he doesn’t have what it takes to consistently feature in the side.

Iwobi has been at Everton for over two and a half years now and has failed to make an impact under any of the five permanent managers he has played for during that time, with just six goals and six assists in 82 appearances for the Toffees.

Lampard did give the 26 year old his Everton debut at Goodison Park on
