Lampard must now unleash "unstoppable" £9m-rated gem, he's exactly what Everton needs - opinion

Frank Lampard is under pressure to get Everton back on track this season after a disastrous run of form that has found the side struggling to pull away from the bottom end of the Premier League table, with the side currently 16th just four points off the drop zone.

The club made several signings in the January transfer window with Dele Alli, Vitaliy Mykolenko and Donny Van de Beek joining the side to name a few of the players added to the squad with the intention of bolstering the options for the side in the remaining months of the season.

One signing that has failed to make an impact so far due to limited game time in the side is Anwar El Ghazi, who joined the club on loan from Aston Villa during the winter window, only playing for nine minutes.

El Ghazi had been an impactful attacking threat for Aston Villa, with the player scoring a goal every 17o minutes last season, tallying up 11 strikes in total for the Birmingham based side. The player had scored three goals in ten appearances this season before he was snapped up by Everton in January, and his attacking output was something that clearly attracted the Toffees.

Despite this consistent goal-scoring, the £9m-rated gem who was hailed “unstoppable” by former Villa defender Alan Hutton, he has failed to gain a start in the line up, but this could now change as Lampard will need to take a closer look at his selection following the defeat to Southampton at the weekend.
