Kris Boyd left gobsmacked live on air as Rangers hero can’t believe unbelievable miss
Kris Boyd was well known for his poacher style finishing.
But the former Rangers and Kilmarnock striker was left with a sense of incredible shock at a miss in the English Championship finale.
The pundit was part of the Sky Sports team and was keeping a watchful eye over Burnley's clash with Millwall with plenty on the line at Turf Moor in terms of going for the title for the home side and the play-offs up for grabs for the visitors.
But with the game level at 1-1, Millwall had a huge chance to take the lead 10 minutes before the break and after watching what unfolded on the monitor in front of him, Boyd was left gobsmacked by the outcome.
He said live on air: "Wait until you see this miss. Wow. Wow.
"Josh Coburn down the right hand side. It is a lovely ball and he does well.
"Wait until you see this. I can't believe it. Look at it. Oh my days. Oh my days.
"Just when you thought you would never see anything like Clinton Morrison again. Oh my days. "
It proved a costly miss for the Lions with the home side going on to win the game 3-1 - but it wasn't enough to lift the league title despite hitting the 100 point mark with Leeds hitting a winner at Plymouth in added-time.
For Millwall, the ended the campaign in eighth and missed out of the play-off positions by two points in a final day of drama.
Sheffield United, Sunderland, Coventry City and Bristol City are all now dreaming of joining Burnley and Leeds in the English Premier League next season as the battle it out for promotion success.
The richest game in football is now just a semi-final two-legged tie away for two of the four sides and a spot in the riches of England's top league is just three matches away.
