Kilmarnock kid Bobby Wales catches eye of Leeds United as English clubs line up to track striker
Bobby Wales has caught the eye of scouts from England as the Kilmarnock kid impresses while out on loan.
The talented teenager has rattled in seven goals in his last eight games while at League One side Alloa. Now the strapping 6ft 2ins Scotland U19 striker's impressive recent form has caught the attention of clubs down south.
The 18-year-old’s recent displays have been watched by a string of English clubs, including Ipswich, Stoke and Leeds United. Hurlford-born Wales joined Kilmarnock in July 2021, quickly progressing from their youth ranks into Derek McInnes’ first-team. He was handed the first of 10 senior appearances with the Rugby Park side as a last-minute sub in a defeat to St Johnstone in October 2022.
The youngster was sent on loan to the Indodrill Stadium back in September in order to give him further first-team opportunities and so far it’s paying off. After a slow start which saw him go eight games without a goal, Wales is flying now having helped fire Andy Graham’s side into the League One play-off slots.
