Ex Rangers star Ross McCormack mobbed by Leeds United fans as former striker leads concourse chant

Ex Rangers star Ross McCormack was mobbed by fans after joining another of his former clubs for an away day.

The 37-year-old recently joined English eleventh tier outfit Doncaster City and made the short trip across Yorkshire to Hillsborough where Sheffield Wednesday were hosting Leeds United in a Friday night Championship clash.

And McCormack was delighted to see The Whites win 2-0 to keep them on track for automatic promotion to the English Premier League. McCormack, who came through the youth ranks at Ibrox, moved to Elland Road from Cardiff City in 2010 and spent four years there which included a spell as captain.

The fans adored the striker and a decade after his departure they showed their appreciation as he was mobbed in the concourse area at half time. The supporters belted out a terrace chant in tribute to him before chants of his name were shushed and be broke into a chant for current star Junior Firpo.

Earlier in the day, McCormack shared an image of him on the train alongside travelling fans on his Instagram story.
