Kieran Tierney shows Celtic love runs deep with Giorgos Giakoumakis as pair share Parkhead moment in USA

Kieran Tierney has gone back to his Celtic roots and snapped a picture with a former Hoops star.

And despite the fact that the Arsenal defender never played alongside Greek forward Giorgos Giakoumakis during his storied spell in Glasgow, the Scotland cap took a moment to snap a picture after the Gunners competed in a pre-season friendly stateside. Mikel Arteta's men hammered an MLS All Stars side by five goals to nil with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and new signing Kai Havertz on target in a rout in Washington. Tierney managed an appearance off the bench as did former Celtic hitman Giakoumakis.

And the pair took the chance to excite Hoops fans amid swirling rumours that the 26-year-old defender could return to Glasgow in what would no doubt prove to be a sensational return in Brendan Rodgers. The left-back was somewhat frozen out under Arteta last season but has made 100 appearances for the Premier League giants since sealing a life-changing £25million move in 2019. Giakoumakis also left Celtic but later on in January 2023 as he ended a successful spell in Scotland.

Both of the players remain fan favourites in the eyes of Parkhead fanatics, and took the chance to get to know one another on the field before swapping shirts at full-time. Tierney in his social media post tagged the Greek, while he responded in kind with a picture of the pair holding each other's shirts.

The defender then re-shared the post with the caption 'Topman' and a handshake and four leaf clover emoji.
