Kevin De Bruyne's Man City stance as Pep Guardiola faces transfer dilemma

The celebrations have now finished after a record-breaking season as eyes start to turn to the preparations for the new campaign.

For Manchester City, the concentration will be on extending their time as Premier League Champions to a fifth year. They will again look to improve their squad in the upcoming transfer window to try and do that.

As with any summer, there could be both incomings and outgoings with names already linked with a move to the club. The transfer window officially opens on June 14, with clubs around the world vying for the best talent available.

Kevin De Bruyne is of interest to clubs in Saudi Arabia this summer, but is ‘open’ to extending his current contract at City, according to the Times.

The midfielder has been a key player in City’s dominance under Pep Guardiola over the last few weeks. His current deal is due to expire at the end of next season.

A hamstring problem did see him reduced to just 15 starts in the Premier League this season. He still however managed four goals and 10 assists.

MEN Sport says: De Bruyne will be hoping to put the injury problems behind him next season which will be ominous for the clubs attempting to dethrone City. The midfielder is not keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League.
