Kaizer Chiefs striker Bimenyimana set to miss Soweto Derby
Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has reportedly picked up a thigh injury that will rule him out of action for a month.
According to SABC Sport, the Burundian forward will miss all of Amakhosi's matches before the Soccer World Cup break kicks in on Monday, 14 November.
The Glamour Boys are up against TS Galaxy (DStv Premiership) on Wednesday, AmaZulu (MTN8 semi-final second leg) on Sunday and then take on rivals Orlando Pirates in the highly anticipated DStv Premiership edition of the Soweto Derby.
There's also a potential MTN8 final against either Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, 5 November, provided Chiefs overcome Usuthu this weekend, while a match against the Buccaneers in the Carling Black Label Cup is also set in stone for FNB Stadium on Saturday, 12 November.
Head coach Arthur Zwane will rue the timing of Bimenyimana's injury as he is currently the joint-top scorer in the league alongside Sundowns' Peter Shalulile with six goals each.
The 24-year-old, 1.94m-tall forward was the eighth and final player recruited by Amakhosi before the transfer window closed last month.
He joined Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Zitha Kwinika, George Matlou, Dillon Solomons, Ashley du Preez, Yusuf Maart and Siyethemba Sithebe as new faces under the stewardship of Zwane.
His six goals have catapulted Chiefs to fourth place in the league after a slow start for the Soweto giants.
