Jurgen Klopp explains squad transformation and names three players who are the future of Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp has explained how his Liverpool squad is undergoing a “transformation” – and why it was right for him to extend his contract to oversee the change.
Klopp gave the Reds a major boost last month by penning a new deal that will continue his Anfield commitment for the next four years.
Liverpool have gradually been evolving their squad over the last two seasons with the arrivals of Diogo Jota, Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas and Luis Diaz.
Young duo Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott have also become first-team squad regulars while highly-rated Fulham teenager Fabio Carvalho will arrive in the forthcoming transfer window.
And ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris, Klopp is confident there will be more chapters in a Liverpool journey that began in October 2015 and has already seen them sweep up every major honour.
“I hope so,” said the Reds boss. “What I am really happy about is that we are in the transformation – not a transformation like 'bam' (clicks fingers) – it's more slight.
