Jung teases Celtic transfer arrival but midfielder reveals ultimate dream move

Gwangju FC star Jung Ho-Yeon has claimed a move to Europe is "getting closer" with Celtic leading the race to snap up the midfielder next month.

Boss Lee Jung-Hyo claimed earlier this week that talks had "advanced" with the Scottish Premiership leaders over a move for the 23-year-old in the winter window as he conceded an exit from the K-League was on the cards after an impressive campaign for the club. Brendan Rodgers has been open with his demands to add more quality to the Celtic Park dressing room when the window opens - and it appears Jung is set to follow the likes of Oh Hyeon-gyu, Kwon Hyeok-Kyu and Yang Hyeon-jun from the South Korean top flight to Glasgow's east end.

And Jung has now opened up on his next move after picking up the Young Player of the Year award in his homeland after helping Gwangju to third spot in the K-League - during his first season in the top flight. He was asked about a potential move by Korean outlet Chosun - and gave a nod to interest from Celtic in recent months.

He responded: "A move into into Europe is slowly getting closer. During the last season, scouts from some European clubs, including Celtic, came to see me play in person."

Pressed on what his dream move would be, he added: "If I could choose a league, I want to play in the Spanish Primera Liga. From an early age, I loved FC Barcelona's style of football."
