Journalist drops exciting Celtic transfer claim involving "top players"

Celtic have given their chances of signing “top players” this summer a huge boost following their Old Firm derby win over the weekend, says transfer insider Pete O’Rourke.

The Bhoys took a massive step towards winning the Scottish Premiership title after beating rivals Rangers 2-1, bringing a spot in the group stage of next season’s Champions League closer in sight. And O’Rourke believes that spot could be game-changing for them in the upcoming transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou’s men know that if they win the title this season, they will go straight into the group stage of the 2022/23 Champions League as long as this year’s winners qualify for the competition through their own domestic league position.

And following their comeback at Ibrox, they have every chance of doing just that. Celtic now have a six-point lead over their rivals with just six games left to play.

All in all, it has been a great season for the Glasgow club who have won an impressive 25 league matches and have also claimed the Scottish League Cup.

From Postecoglou’s point of view, the only real disappointment will be how his side crashed out of both the Europa League and Europa Conference League. However, it has allowed Celtic to concentrate on their domestic affairs, while Rangers are still competing in Europe.
