Josh Taylor brushes aside Hearts wind up by Jack Catterall as he promises to 'smash his head in'
Josh Taylor insists jumping on the Jambos bandwagon won’t save arch-rival Jack Catterall from a beating.
The former undisputed king clashed with his bitter enemy in yesterday’s head-to-head in Edinburgh to kick-off the build up to their hotly-anticipated rematch in Leeds on April 27 and the pair had to be separated on the stage. Catterall revealed he’s been given a Hearts strip by Tynecastle midfielder Andy Halliday – in a bid to wind up Hibee Taylor. The Chorley fighter’s motormouth manager Sam Jones said: “Andy is a friend of a friend and he arranged to send us it. The club have invited us to the derby as well.”
Catterall said: “Since the first fight I’ve had a lot of support from the Scottish fans and fans from Edinburgh. They’ve been kind enough to gift me a Hearts top which was very kind of them and I’ve got quite a few of the lads coming down to the fight. It’s a nice gift and it shows that maybe the divide up here.”
But Taylor refused to bite as he’s more of a motorsport fan – and he’s revved up to bury the memory of his controversial points win over Catterall in Glasgow two years ago. He said: “Jack’s not even intelligent enough to wind me up or insult me. He would have been better turning up with some kind of F1 top. I’m a Moto GP fan.
“Apparently he’s got a Hearts jersey or someone gave it to him. Apparently his manager knows Andy Halliday or something, but I honestly couldn’t care less. He can turn up with a Hearts top all he wants. Lee McGregor (the Edinburgh bantamweight ace) is one of my best mates and he’s a big Jambo.
“I don’t give a s*** who supports who. I like to watch football sometimes and I go and watch Hibs now and again when I get the chance. But that’s it. This isn’t Hearts vs Hibs or Scotland vs
