Jose Mourinho takes one league match to show true colours as Fenerbahce manager

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is already causing chaos in his first match as Fenerbahçe boss.

'The Special One' was able to guide his new club to their first win of the season in their opening match against Adana Demirspor as he looks to get the better of bitter rivals Galatasaray in the race to the league title after they missed out on their first Super Lig trophy lift since 2014 by just three points.

Former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half, with former Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin, the club's newest signing, darting through the Demirspor half before a brilliant no-look pass found Dzeko open 12 yards out who curled it around goalkeeper Deniz Eren Dönmezer.

There were immediate calls for offside from the away side but semi-automated offside technology showed that Dzeko was being kept onside by centre-back Andrew Gravillon and therefore the goal stood, much to Mourinho's delight, who was seen celebrating on the touchline.

In typical Mourinho fashion, Fenerbahce didn't face a single shot on target throughout the contest, with their defensive display looking assured and succinct. Also in typical Mourinho fashion was the Portuguese legend's antics in his technical area.

Known for his passionate displays from the sideline , the 61-year-old took just 19 minutes to draw the attention away from the contest on the pitch. Within the opening 20 minutes, Mourinho was booked for arguing with the referee, with the cameras picking up him shouting at the officials in his Turkish Super Lig debut.
