Jon Dahl Tomasson provides Bradley Dack injury update after Blackburn Rovers pre-season absence

Jon Dahl Tomasson has confirmed Bradley Dack will make his first appearance of pre-season against Lincoln City this weekend.

The talented playmaker hasn't featured in any of the games so far after picking up a small injury in training. That kept him out of the trip to Scotland with Rovers taking extra caution after a torrid time with injuries.

Dack get some minutes in his legs at Sincil Bank this weekend though but won't complete the 90 minutes. Nonetheless, it's an encouraging step in the right direction.

"If everything goes as we planned, and he trained yesterday, we did a very tough session, and the day before, so he should be able to do some minutes," Tomasson said. "He won't be able to make 90, but should be doing some minutes on Saturday.

"Let's start with one thing at a time, he is a great player, we all know that."

Rovers ran out 1-0 winners at Hartlepool United on Wednesday. Jack Vale's 80th-minute strike proved the difference in a match where Rovers dominated possession without creating buckets of clear-cut chances.

Joe Rankin-Costello was the only substitute in the 65th minute and Tomasson revealed it was stomach problems that saw him taken off.

"It was a mix of team, some youngsters with the senior players, Tomasson said. "The same story of them getting a chance to show me and the staff how good they are.

"I think that Sam Barnes did really well today. Ayala showed big leadership today which is also important.

"I think we controlled possession, we created a lot of entrances in the final third. The last pass or decision could have been better, we played with high pressure and then we had balls where we needed to play forward.
