Jet2 flight makes 'emergency landing' at Manchester Airport

A Jet2 flight made an 'emergency landing' at Manchester Airport on Wednesday afternoon (August 14) before the aircraft was surrounded by fire crews on the runway.

The LS810 flight, from Malaga, requested a priority landing at the airport due to a 'fault indication'. It has been reported the reason for the emergency landing was a hydraulic issue.

The flight path, according to FlightRadar24, showed how the plane began descending over Hyde and Stockport after turning over Glossop, High Peak.

Jet2 said pilots followed the 'standard operating procedure' before landing safely at around 4pm on Wednesday. The aircraft was met by fire crews on the runway before passengers disembarked.

According to Aviation Source, the flight 'declared an emergency due to a hydraulic issue'. It added: "The aircraft was met by fire crews on arrival and towed to the stand."

A Jet2 spokesperson said: "Flight LS810 followed standard operating procedure and requested a priority landing at Manchester Airport, due to a fault indication. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to stand where customers disembarked as normal."
