Police storm delayed Jet2 flight at Manchester Airport before passenger is turfed off plane

Police stormed a Jet2 flight which was delayed due to 'disruption' on board on Thursday (August 29), before a passenger was turfed off the plane.

The LS921 flight, to Dalaman in Turkey, was over two hours late in taking off after police were drafted in to assist with the issue involving passengers on board.

Pictures shared to social media showed a number of officers on board as other passengers filmed the drama on their mobile phones. The 'particularly disruptive' passenger was later removed by officers after the plane returned to its stand from the runway.

The airline thanked police and the on-board crew for their handling of the matter, and apologised to other customers for the delay.

The flight, which was initially set to jet off at 4.15pm, later took off at 6.30pm. Jet2 said it takes a 'zero tolerance approach' to 'disruptive behaviour'.

A Jet2 spokesperson said: "We can confirm that flight LS921 returned to stand earlier today (Thursday 29th August) so that police could offload a particularly disruptive passenger.

"We would like to thank the police and our crew for their handling of this matter. The flight departed after the passenger was removed and we would like to apologise to customers for the delay, as well as for any upset caused. As a family friendly airline, we take a zero tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour.

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details.
