Jamie Vardy theory shared after Leicester City announce Derby County friendly

Leicester City’s pre-season plans are almost complete as Brendan Rodgers finalises his fixtures to prepare for the new Premier League season.

City’s squad are expected back at the club’s Seagrave Training Centre at the end of this month for tests as they step up their preparations for the 2022/23 campaign. Players who were in international action earlier this month are likely to be given slightly longer off.

City kick off their pre-season campaign in a behind closed doors friendly against Notts County. They then travel to Evian for a training camp where they will look to continue to build up their fitness.

Friendlies against OH Leuven (A), Preston North End (A) and Sevilla (H) have also been announced. City confirmed on Wednesday that they will also face East Midland rivals Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday July 23rd,

That game falls on the same day as the friendly against Preston North End with Rodgers splitting his squad for the two games. It has led to speculation over which players could be playing which games.

Wayne Rooney is currently in charge of the Rams, something which has caught the eye of some fans given the recent ‘Wagatha Christie’ court case between the wives of Rooney and Jamie Vardy. That has caused some City fans to conclude which game Vardy will be playing when July 23 comes around.

: Think Jamie Vardy will be sent up in the preston squad

: Vardy will be at the Preston game then!

: Rodgers taking the first team to Preston so no Vardy v Rooney

: I’d hedge my bets that Vardy ends up at Deepdale on this day

:The vardy Rooney derby

: Vardy vs Rooney on the touch line

: the Wagatha Christie derby
