Jamie Carragher casts sceptical Celtic eye over Joe Hart as Micah Richards launches defiant defence of Immobile save attempt

Jamie Carragher has questioned whether Joe Hart could have covered himself in more Celtic glory against Lazio.

The Hoops were hit with two late goals in the Champions League Group E clash that sent them tumbling out of Europe. Ciro Immobile arrived off the bench to net a brace, with his second a piece of individual quality that sent his side into the last 16.

Brendan Rodgers' men meanwhile are out of Europe before Christmas and sit on one point ahead of facing Feyenoord on matchday six. Goalkeeper Hart was criticised for his role in Motherwell's leveller during Celtic's 1-1 draw on Saturday and Liverpool legend Carragher has called him into question again. The shot stopper's former Man City teammate Richards was effusive in his praise for Immobile. He told CBS: "It was that man Immobile. I mean, what a player he has been over the years. The goal is really something special.

"The movement was outstanding and then he gets his first goal. His second goal was even better. He twists and turns (Cameron Carter-Vickers). Fakes to shoot and a lovely finish by slotting it home."

Carragher was quick to question the goalkeeping though. He asked Richards: "Could your mate (Joe Hart) have done anymore there?"

And the former defender was adamant in his stance. Richards added: “No, Joe Hart couldn’t have done anything there. His positioning was fantastic. It was just down to a great finish.”
