James Maddison and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall injury update as Leicester City duo miss Tottenham game

Leicester City pair James Maddison and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have both been left at home as precautions following minor injury concerns.

Both players are missing from the matchday squad at Tottenham, manager Brendan Rodgers choosing to make eight changes to his team as he prepares for the second leg of the Europa Conference League semi-final against Roma on Thursday.

The manager has now said that they have been omitted because of minor injury issues, with Dewsbury-Hall suffering from a tight calf and Maddison with a slight hip problem. It is the first game that Dewsbury-Hall has not started in this run of two games a week since the international break.

It's also common sense as well in relation to if you look at our season. It's been hampered really so much with injuries," Rodgers told Sky Sports before the match.

"They are only now starting to come back so the squad is looking really healthy. Lots of players are not in the position to be playing three games a week so we have to manage that.

"Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had a tight calf anyway, so he wasn't going to be available. James Maddison a little bit with his hip, those two boys have not travelled.

"But it is also the team that we have played, it is virtually a lot of players that have played with us for a lot of the season. So a lot of them have played a lot of games and they are up to match speed. But for us it just makes sense for us to make sure that the players who are coming back are not stretched and we have an important game coming up on Thursday."
