James Justin, James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira – Leicester City injury update ahead of Norwich

James Justin’s season may be over after dislocating his shoulder in the defeat at Roma.

The full-back was missing for the defeat to Everton on Sunday, along with James Maddison and Ricardo Pereira. Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers revealed in his post-match press conference that Justin was absent because of an issue sustained in the first few minutes of Thursday night’s Europa Conference League semi-final second leg.

In the very early stages at Stadio Olimpico, Justin was tripped and received treatment on the pitch. After a couple of minutes, he picked himself up and was able to play the 90 minutes of the 1-0 defeat.

However, it has since emerged that he dislocated his shoulder and the injury may prevent him from featuring again before the season is out. Ricardo is another who may miss the final fortnight of fixtures, the Portuguese international missing on Sunday with an as-yet-unspecified injury, but Maddison could be back to face his former team Norwich on Wednesday night.

Asked about the trio in his post-match press conference, Rodgers said: “Hopefully, James (Maddison) will be okay for Wednesday. Ricky, it’s questionable whether he will play over the next couple of weeks.

“JJ, you remember he fell on his shoulder away at Roma, there’s a dislocation there. We have to see if he’s going to be able to play in any of the other games. He was no good for today. But we’ll see. Hopefully he’ll play some part in some of the games left.”

City’s injury situation has cleared up over recent months and before these three issues emerged, the club had just two players on the sidelines. Wilfred Ndidi and Ryan Bertrand have both been ruled out for the remainder of the season with knee problems.
