Jack Grealish can finally take Man City moment he was robbed of

Jack Grealish was more used to teeing the ball up for others yet here he was, soaring highest in the Old Trafford penalty box to plant a header past David de Gea for the biggest goal of his Manchester City career.

After a frustrating first year at the Etihad learning to trust his ability in a star-studded squad, injury had hampered the start of his second campaign to the point where he was not a starter when Pep Guardiola picked his team for a January derby. For all that Grealish adds to the team and the attack with his overall play, there is nothing like goals and assists for earning credit in the bank with supporters and a winner against United earns more than most.

Except it wasn't. What looked like being Grealish's most important goal for City was forgotten by the final whistle amid the enormous controversy over the United equaliser that was farcically given by the referee and then later admitted that it wouldn't be given ahead.

City have every right to still be stewing over that decision as they head into Sunday's game and Grealish in particular given what should have been a career highlight for him was ruthlessly steamrollered. Maybe United would have gone on to equalise without the helping hand from the officials, but they were hardly knocking the door down when the whistle fell in their favour.
