ITV This Morning fans disgusted at guest's freezer suggestion to save money with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield

This Morning viewers weren't very convinced by the show's latest money-saving tips. Days after the ITV daytime show came under fire for Alice Beer's boiler tips to cut costs this winter, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield welcomed family cooking expert Suzanne Mulholland onto the show.

Suzanne, aka 'The Batch Lady', appeared on Wednesday's show (October 12) and shared with viewers some of the surprising foods you can freeze as well as her top tips for freezing them safely.

The segment was inspired after it was revealed the average UK household wastes £700 worth of food per year, the equivalent of eight meals per week - however, according to Suzanne "there's very few things you can't freeze" to extend the life of and prevent waste.

Suzanne told viewers and left the show's hosts amazed as she revealed that you can freeze "nearly everything," before showing off a number of food items that can be safely frozen including milk, cheese, pancakes, French toast and "any fruit".

But there was one suggestion that didn't sit well with viewers, MyLondon reports. "Sandwiches freeze great," Suzanne said. "If you are a busy working parent and you've got to get out the door quick in the morning, you've got three children, you can make up your sandwiches and freeze them.

"And they work brilliantly if you're on a budget and you're looking to get your bread or your bagels to last the whole week." Suzanne's suggestion to freeze sandwiches, however, was met with disgust from This Morning viewers as they flocked to social media to comment.
