ITV Emmerdale's Amelia quits village as unexpected character returns after five years

Emmerdale actor Mark Jordon has reprised his role as Daz Spencer for Amelia Spencer's heartbreaking exit storyline.

Fans of the ITV soap will remember that Daz is the brother of Dan Spencer (Liam Fox), who is currently in jail for after accidentally killing Amelia's cyberstalking Lloyd when he punched him.

Daz, who Amelia's biological father despite her believing Dan was her dad for years, made a brief return during Friday's (December 20) episode, which is available to watch on ITVX, as Amelia decided to leave the village for good.

She decided to go and live with Daz in Leciester with her daughter Esther leaving Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) heartbroken.

Mark made his debut in the hit ITV soap as Daz back in 2014 before leaving in 2019. Since leaving Emmerdale, the actor appeared in Holby City as Connor Coleman and The Long Shadow as Ray Wood.

Away from his acting credentials, Mark is in a relationship with Emmerdale co-star Laura Norton, who plays Kerry and The couple have two young children Jesse and Ronnie.

However, just months on from welcoming their children, the couple revealed that both of their children have been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition named Usher syndrome which affects their vision and hearing.

Away from their work, both Mark and Laura work tirelessly to raise awareness of Usher syndrome as well as vital funds for the UK charity CURE USHER.

Speaking about Amelia's exit after 13 years playing the character, actress Daisy Campbell said: "Once they [the producers] explained, I totally got it. Amelia isn't part of the Dingles, her dad has left, Samson has gone now and she doesn't have any family. There is nowhere to take Amelia and I understand that.
