ITV GMB's Andi Peters struggles to host as he fights tears live on air

Andi Peters struggled to host his segment on Good Morning Britain after becoming overwhelmed live on-air. The programme cut from Ed Balls and Susanna Reid to Andi, who was presenting a competition piece on the ITV show.

However, as the broadcast went live he struggled to remain composed after an emotional interview with a grieving mum who had lost her son Jamie when a defib wasn't available.

"We've got an amazing price, we're in Edinburgh. It's £105,300. That's the money we're going to give away. It's a huge amount of money, it could change your life," Andi emotionally told viewers.

He went on: "Take a look at Edinburgh, the sun is irising up this morning. Here, in this wonderful city. This competition is all about the phone, because if you win, I could be calling you live on the television, to let you know you've won the prize."

Andi's tearful outburst came after GMB was interrupted by a breaking news announcement earlier during Tuesday's show. A live broadcast from Downing Street was cut short in order for Ranvir Singh to share some news with viewers.

She informed viewers of an earthquake which had taken place in 23km from Shigatse, Tibet at around 9am local time (1am GMT). The countries impacted include Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Bhutan and China, with the earthquake having a magnitude of 7.1.

She announced: "And some breaking international news, at least 53 people have died and dozens others have
