ITV Emmerdale favourite 'to be killed off' in shock revenge twist - but fans are fuming

Emmerdale fans are convinced that a favourite character is on the brink of being written out.

Ross Barton (played by Michael Parr) first appeared in 2013, and quickly became popular with viewers. As the village's resident rogue, Ross was involved in numerous major plotlines over the years.

He is well-known for his tumultuous relationships with Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth), Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins). Moreover, in 2018, he was the victim of a terrifying acid attack.

The situation escalated dramatically when boss Jade (Twinnie-Lee Moore) had money stolen from her - and suspecting Ross was the culprit, she resorted to extreme measures to retrieve her cash.

Jade and her henchmen ended up abducting April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), threatening to murder her if they didn't get the money back. Fortunately, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) arrived just in time - with the latter admitting he was the one who took the cash.

The dramatic scene where a livid Ross assaulted Mackenzie, witnessed by his young son Moses, has caused quite the stir. Following this violent outburst, Moses' mum and Mack's wife, Charity, made the decisive move to stop Ross from seeing their son. The incident has sparked outrage in the village, prompting calls from some residents to "get rid of him."
