ITV Emmerdale fans call out 'strange' plot hole in missing April storyline

Emmerdale aired an emotional episode on Christmas Day as Marlon realised his teenage daughter April had gone missing after going to check on her that morning.

After dealing with a lot of emotional turmoil in the last few weeks, from finding out how her mother Donna Windsor really died, to Ross ending their friendship, April was last seen by Marlon as she had a drunken outburst.

On the Christmas Day episode, viewers watched as Marlon fell into panic mode trying to figure out where his daughter had gone, particularly with April recently getting kidnapped by fight promoter Jade to be used as leverage against Ross, who was accused of stealing money.

As the village rallied together on Boxing Day, viewers spotted April meeting up with someone in a car before being driven away from the Dales.

Some eagle-eyed fans of the ITV soap believe they've figured out who the mystery driver is - Anthony Fox. Ruby Fox-Miligan's father Anthony was recently introduced to Emmerdale, with viewers seeing how Anthony had abused Ruby when she was younger, but has he now targeted a vulnerable April?

While April's location is unknown to viewers for the time being, some fans have noticed a potential plot hole in the story. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), @fussyMcWhiskers questioned: "How did April get in touch with mystery car picker upper if her phone is still at home. Do they still have public phone boxes anywhere now?"

@QuestionThis247 added: "Question is who picked up April as she clearly had that arranged". @suzysasha echoed: "Strange. She had no phone to call anyone. Unless the guy's just assumed she'd hitchhiking and picked her up anyway."
