ITV Emmerdale fans to discover reason for Faith Dingle's behaviour in heartbreaking storyline

Emmerdale fans will discover the reason for Faith Dingle's erratic behavior as she's given heartbreaking news. Viewers of the ITV soap have been worried about the character as she continues to clash with her son Cain.

In recent episodes, we saw Cain left horrified when he found out she had slept with his colleague and daughter Chas' ex-husband Dan Spencer, while she'd also rejected his requests to look after his kids. Then, on Tuesday night (May 10), Faith lost her temper and threw a dumbbell at Dan's house after having words with his daughter, Amelia.

In what could be described a perfect shot, she ended up lobbing the piece of gym equipment right through the glass of their front door and the police were called. But when Faith refused to apologise and continued with her jibes towards Amelia and police officer Harriet Finch, she was arrested and bundled into the back of a police car.

However, in scenes to air later this week, Emmerdale fans will see Faith receiving the news that her cancer has returned. Viewers know that Faith battled breast cancer in the past and underwent a double mastectomy.

The Dingle matriarch, played by Sally Dexter, will be told the devastating news that she has secondary cancer, when cancer has spread from where it started to another part of the body.

The ITV soap opera has said Faith will also struggle to share the news with her children Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) due to tensions between them remaining high. With nowhere to turn, Faith will lean on Moira Barton, played by Natalie J Robb, for support during this difficult time.

Moira will urge Faith to tell the rest
