ITV Emmerdale fans fear heartbreaking Amelia twist as Samson makes 'big mistake'

Emmerdale fans were left wondering if Samson Dingle had made a 'big mistake' during his quest to reveal his true feelings to Amelia Spencer. The son of Sam Dingle in the ITV soap has been harbouring feelings for his friend for months, giving her makeovers and hanging out with her and Cathy Hope.

But after a chat with Cathy, telling her how gorgeous he thinks Amelia is, the schoolgirl told him to make it clear to Amelia. Meanwhile, Amelia is continuing to struggle with her body image. Viewers of the ITV soap have watched the teen becoming obsessed with the images she sees on social media and has begun working out and sharing selfies to her own page.

Taking Amelia back the the Dingle's home to help with the pigs, the pair eventually made their way indoors where Amelia continued to talk about how she wanted to look like other girls and not be 'basic'. Eventually, Samson plucked up the courage to express how he feels, telling Amelia: "You must have realised that I like you..." with an oblivious Amelia replying: "Yeah, I like you as well."

Having to explain further, Samson added: "Yeah, but I mean, I really like you. Like do you want to go on a date? I just thought, because..." But Samson was soon left crushed when he was friendzoned by Amelia. She said: "Samson, the thing is, you're like my best mate and we'll always be mates. I feel like I can talk to you about anything and I love you for that," to which he replied: "Yeah, same."
