ITV Dancing on Ice fans call for change to show as they say 'it's ridiculous'

Dancing on Ice fans are calling on ITV to make a change to the show as the new series got underway.

Following the debut episode of the sixteenth season, fans have been complaining about the frequent use of ad breaks throughout the 90-minute runtime. Some even remarked that it felt like the ads were coming in every five minutes.

While the show will see 12 celebrities compete against each other to be crowned the champion of the rink, not all of them will be featured in Sunday night's episode. And some annoyed fans complained that they could have seen all contestant in the first episode if it wasn't for the barrage of adverts.

Another complained: "What's with all this skating inbetween the breaks." While a fifth said: "Loving dancing on ice but so many long advert breaks."

The new series of Dancing on Ice kicked off on Sunday night with the first six celebrities performing for the judges and those watching at home. Next week, the remaining six stars will take to the ice and the first elimination will take place.

The twelve celebrities taking part are former world champion boxer Ricky Hattbbbon, S Club singer Hannah Spearritt, Emmerdale's Roxy Shahidi, West End star Amber Davies, Olympian Greg Rutherford, actors Ryan Thomas and Claire Sweeney, comedian Lou Sanders, reality star Miles Nazaire, Eastenders actor Ricky Norwood, DJ
