Italian restaurant to remove ALL tables and chairs
A restaurant in the city centre is ditching all its tables and chairs in order to create a social, up-tempo dining experience inspired by Italy.
Haunt, on Peter Street, will remove the settings for a special night this evening (September 13) inspired by the Italian trend of Apericena - an elevated version of Aperitivo that covers drinks and dinner in one standing setting.
Already rising in popularity across Italy, the concept was born in Piedmont and aims to create a convivial, relaxed space for friends and family to share food and drinks together without the restriction of being sat at a table.

The free-to-attend evening at Haunt will give people the chance to enjoy authentic Piedmontese food alongside complimentary bottles of Italian craft beer Menabrea, which also originates from the region.
Italian restaurants in Manchester, London and Glasgow have signed up to trial out the concept, with an event at London’s Tavino Bar & Kitchen earlier this month proving to be a success.
Set against the buzzing backdrop of DJ sets, attendees will enjoy delicious small-plates with a bespoke menu curated by chef and food writer Nina Parker who is partnering with Menabrea on the events.
Nina said: “I have a personal tie to Italian cuisine through my family heritage, so collaborating with one of Italy’s most renowned beers was an opportunity I couldn’t resist.
