'It’s as simple as that' - Manchester United sent latest Jarrard Branthwaite transfer stance by Everton

Sean Dyche says he is hopeful Everton will not need to sell Jarrad Branthwaite this summer in order to comply with the Premier League's financial regulations - insisting you only sell good players if there's a problem.

Twenty-one-year-old Branthwaite, signed from Carlise United in 2020, has established himself as one of the best up-and-coming defenders in the Premier League and has practically been an ever-present for the Toffees since being drafted into Dyche's XI back in August.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are the two standout names who have been linked with a move for Branthwaite, who spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven before returning to Goodison Park in the summer, but Dyche was keen to stress that he doesn't want the club to cash in on the defender despite Everton recently being charged by the Premier League for recording losses in excess of the permitted £105m.

“We don’t want to sell any good players,” said Toffees boss Dyche. “It’s as simple as that and he’s proven to be a very good player. We’re not in the business of trying to sell players.

"You only sell players if you have to sell players or there’s a problem. There’s no problem, therefore I’m just hoping we don’t need to sell players. At the minute, we certainly don’t so we will see.”
