Manchester United to receive summer transfer reminder with latest audition

Manchester United are heading into the final run of fixtures worrying about a familiar concern this season - injuries.

As much as performances have not been great this season, Erik ten Hag shall argue that his team has been ravaged by injuries and he was unable to improve the squad in January. One key area where a lack of options particularly ruined United this campaign was up top.

For the majority of the season, Ten Hag has had to rely upon Rasmus Hojlund as his only capable centre-forward. Anthony Martial has been available from time to time but the ship has long since sailed on him being a reliable choice.

Now, stating how Hojlund being the only option up front is a weakness for United is not a slight on the Dane. In fact, over recent months he has arguably been one of United's best players and his goals have helped claw the Reds into a position where they can challenge for Champions League qualification.

But, with Martial almost certain to exit the club, the No.9 role needs strengthening by INEOS in the summer. Step forward Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

It is hard to remember a time when a player has ever been more open about leaving a club. The Bees' loyal fanbase will be disappointed that a player who was banned for a considerable length of time and whom they stuck by, has claimed he wants to leave in the summer for a bigger club.
