Isco sets interviewer straight about Rangers as Hector Bellerin remark shows how much he thinks of Ibrox

Former Real Madrid star Isco was quick to remind an interviewer of Rangers' calibre as he insists his Betis side put in a showing to savour at Ibrox.

Manuel Pellegrini's side flashed glimpses of their ability but it was the hosts who came on strong in the second half and secured a morale-boosting Europa League win thanks to Abdallah Sima's strike from close range. Betis fell short but Isco remains unbowed and was keen to set one inquisitive reporter straight from his homeland when asked why they couldn't win in Glasgow.

"The other team also plays," he swiftly responded. Before adding: "I think that by playing the way we played today we are going to win more times than we are going to lose. Luck has not been on our side this time. Even so, I think the team has reacted, in the last moments we have pressed, we have had our options and it was not to be."

And Hector Bellerin is targeting five consecutive wins after losing in Glasgow. While the former Arsenal star didn't have defeat on his to-do list, he confesses the clash with the 2022 Europa League Finalists appeared the toughest fixture on the schedule.

He said: "It was a very physical match, with balls into space. If Barcelona beat us the other day, today we lost. We needed a little more. It's the first match, we knew it would be the most complicated game of this group stage. There are five games left and we have to win them all. We have to learn from these games, we have to play them with the ball at our feet."
