Celtic will look to get off to the perfect start in the defence of their Premiership crown when they welcome Kilmarnock to Parkhead on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers secured a league and Scottish Cup double last season after his return to the dugout as Hoops boss and will hope to add to the nine trophies he's picked up in the east end of Glasgow in the forthcoming campaign. The champions have replaced the retired Joe Hart with fellow English Premier League title winner Kasper Schmeichel and are working hard to bring back loan stars Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo before the new season gets underway.

Sunday's opponents Kilmarnock famously took four points off Celtic last season, as well as knocking them out in the second round of the League Cup. For Killie gaffer Derek McInnes, the challenge is now to try and repeat their heroics from the previous campaign, having led the his side to European qualification for only the second time this century with a fourth place finish in the Premiership. Before their trip to Parkhead at the weekend, McInnes' men continue their quest to reach the group stages of the UEFA Europa League with their their return clash against Cercle Brugge in Belgium tonight, with the scores level at 1-1 from the first encounter in Ayrshire.
