Iceland’s three week warning to shoppers who could miss out on free £15

It may have only just turned summer, but as the cost of living crisis continues, many are already thinking ahead to Christmas and wondering how to spread the cost. Now, frozen food supermarkets Iceland and The Food Warehouse are offering some customers a bonus £15 to spend over the festive season.

The retailers have launched their Christmas Bonus Card Savings scheme early this year, so that customers who are signed up to the loyalty programme can put away cash ahead of the Christmas chaos.

However, shoppers will have to be quick, as the £15 bonus is only available to those who load money onto their card before the end of August - just three weeks away.

Richard Walker, Managing Director at Iceland, said: “We’re aware that shoppers might be in different frames of mind right now – with some starting to think about Christmas while others are just trying to get from one week to the next. We want to be there for everyone.”

Google data shows that, over the past five years, the month that Brits have started to think about saving for Christmas gets earlier and earlier. Shoppers using the Christmas Bonus Card Savings scheme can load or save money onto their card in-store at the checkout, online or via the app.

The £15 bonus will be available to shoppers who save £100 or more onto their Bonus Card between now and Wednesday, August 31. After that, they will receive a £15 top up from Iceland on Thursday, November 24.
