Jon Dadi Bodvarsson fitness update ahead of Plymouth Argyle plus latest on Bolton Wanderers trio

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson is having a scan on a hamstring strain today but Saturday's trip to Plymouth Argyle will come too soon for the Bolton Wanderers forward.

The Iceland international missed the midweek loss to Aston Villa after picking up the problem following the loss to Sheffield Wednesday. He is poised to be out for action for up to a fortnight.

Wanderers are hoping the injury is not as bad as initially feared. The Whites are managing a few niggles in the squad at present, including a foot injury with skipper Ricardo Santos who returned to form last night against Aston Villa.

Evatt said: “It’s something we’re managing, there’s no doubt about that but I thought last night he was back to his best. I thought he was absolutely brilliant last night. It’s great when I hear opposition benches say ‘run him, run him’ because I just smile and I think I know what’s coming next.

“He’s a huge player for us. We are managing one or two issues, there’s no doubt about that throughout the squad. Jon’s got a scan this afternoon but he feels a bit better today so hopefully that’s not too bad. There’s one or two other bits and pieces but other than that they’re generally good condition. I was pleased for Rico to bounce back how he did last night following Saturday.”

Yesterday also saw summer signing Eoin Toal feature for the club's B team in the loss to Blackpool, while Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove also continued their comebacks from injury. There is a chance all three could feature at some stage in next Tuesday's Papa John's Trophy game vs Crewe Alexandra.
