Tyson Fury flies to Iceland to confront Thor Bjornsson, who wasn't there

Tyson Fury and his father John flew to Iceland to try and confront Icelandic strongman Thor Bjornsson, but the trip quickly turned into a boozy holiday.

When Fury announced his retirement from boxing back in April, everyone took it with a pinch of salt.

It was inevitable that the Gypsy King would be back in the ring before long, and Fury recently called out Derek Chisora as he begins to plan his comeback fight.

But while his feud with Chisora rumbles on, Fury has also locked horns with Icelandic strongman Thor Bjornsson, with rumours that the pair could face off in an exhibition bout later this year.

Bjornsson, who was previously named the world’s strongest man, isn’t a stranger to the ring. The 33-year-old went toe-to-toe with Eddie Hall, who has also previously boasted the title of being the world’s strongest man.

The pair brawled in Dubai for a gruelling six rounds back in March before the judges ruled Thor the victor.

Now just five months on from his first boxing event, it seems Thor is eyeing up a heavyweight champion as his next opponent. The pair have traded words on social media recently, but Fury looked to finally confront his potential opponent in the flesh this week.

Fury, alongside his father John, jetted to Iceland with the intention of finding Bjornsson at his gym. The issue, however, was that Thor was nowhere to be seen. In fact, he wasn’t even in Iceland at the time.

Fury documented his Icelandic adventure in a comical series of videos, which hilariously ended with him and his father enjoying a pint in the local pub.
