Ianis Hagi shuts down Rangers transfer exit talk as Romanian commits to Michael Beale's rebuild

Rangers ace Ianis Hagi has quashed speculation that he’s on his way out of Ibrox.

The Romanian star is just back from a serious knee injury and fighting for a place in Michael Beale’s side. But Hagi has been constantly linked with a summer transfer to various clubs in Europe. Spanish outfit Celta Vigo and Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly keen to sign the 24-year-old playmaker. But having signed an extension to his Gers contract in December, which doesn’t expire until 2026, Hagi says he’s fully committed to Beale’s Ibrox revolution.

And he’s determined to be part of a new-look Rangers squad next season which is challenging for trophies. Ahead of today’s Premiership clash with Aberdeen, Hagi said: “I can’t control stuff that comes from outside. The only thing I can control is what I do every day. I love being at this football club. I love the fans so much, as they probably know. One thing is for sure, I’ve got seven games left this season (five for Rangers) and then I need to have a really strong off-season ahead of our Champions League qualifiers.

“So that’s what I’m focused on. I can’t control the noise outside. I’ve signed for Rangers and committed my future to the club in December by signing a contract extension.

“What else can I say? It’s just noise that I can’t control.

“What I can say to the fans is that I’m committed to getting back to full fitness as soon as possible so I can play for this club as much as possible. Pulling that shirt on and playing minutes for Rangers. That’s what makes me happy.”
