Mother of Kerry footballers David and Paudie Clifford dies

The death has taken place of Ellen Clifford, mother of Kerry footballers David and Paudie.

Mrs Clifford, who had been ill for some time, is also survived by her husband, Dermot, and daughter, Shelly.

David and Paudie Clifford have both been selected to play for Kerry in tomorrow's Munster senior football final against Clare at the TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

It is not clear at this stage whether they will play in that game.

Funeral arrangements for Ellen Clifford have yet to be announced.
