Ian Evatt speaks out on Ronan Darcy's Bolton Wanderers future after Swindon Town trial

Ian Evatt has said Bolton Wanderers will not stand in Ronan Darcy's way if he wants to move on to pastures new this summer after the academy product went on trial with Swindon Town.

The 21-year-old has a year left to run on his deal at Wanderers, where he has come through the youth team ranks. He has played 35 times for the Whites and scored two goals since making his debut for the club in 2019.

Darcy played one for Wanderers last season towards the end of the League One loss over Ipswich Town. He spent most of the season elsewhere out on loan.

Pictures of Darcy emerged over the weekend playing for Swindon Town as a trailist in their pre-season friendly against Melksham Town. It has sparked questions over his future at Wanderers.

Evatt has now addressed Darcy's future at the club and admitted that the youngster could move on to pastures new this summer. The Wanderers boss frankly admitted that he does not feel Darcy is ready for Bolton's first team right now.

Evatt told the Manchester Evening News: “I think what we’re trying to do is do right by Ronan really. Do we think he’s ready for our first team? No
