Bolton Wanderers pair return to full training & how pre-season changes have helped avoid injuries

Bolton Wanderers duo Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove are now back in full training after long lay-offs as Ian Evatt revealed how the club had changed its training regime over the summer to guard against major injuries.

Sheehan and Lloyd have been long term absences at Wanderers since last season. The pair have been rehabilitating from injuries, with Sheehan on the comeback from a ruptured ACL and Isgrove recovering from hamstring problems.

Former Newport County man Sheehan last played for Wanderers in mid-November in the FA Cup first round replay loss to Stockport County. Isgrove meanwhile last featured that month too, coming off injured against Doncaster Rovers, before suffering a reoccurance of the same problem in a reserves game.

The pair have been back preparing in pre-season, but have been behind the rest of the squad as they build up their fitness. The pair travelled to the club's training camp on the Algarve in Portugal and have continued to make positive steps on the road to recovery.

Both players are now back training in full and so it might be long until they are both back in action for the Whites. They were part of several injuries picked up last season at Bolton as the club suffered a mid-season shortage of first team players.

But Evatt has revealed that research has been done over the summer on that front in a bid to mitigate against those circumstances arriving again in the future. That has paid dividends with no long-term absences picked up of late as he discussed the changes Wanderers have made.
