'I was told' - Surprising transfer news emerges at Everton

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has been discussing Tanguy Ndombele and a possible move to Everton in the January transfer window.

It’s all change at Everton right now, as the club are in the process of appointing a new manager following the departure of Rafael Benitez earlier this month, but those changes don’t appear to be reserved to what is going on in the dugout.

According to Solhekol, Everton have taken an interest in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ndombele. The Frenchman’s future at his current club is somewhat up in the air right now, with reports suggesting that French side Paris Saint-Germain are interested in taking him away from north London in this window.

Speaking on Sky Sports News’ The Transfer Show, Solhekol discussed the Toffees’ interest in Ndombele, although he did seem to temper his claim by saying that he didn’t think it was a certainty that the move would happen.

He said: “Tanguy Ndombele – obviously he’s held talks with PSG about moving to PSG on loan, there is the connection there with Mauricio Pochettino, who signed him for Spurs.

“I think that is his number-one option at the moment, but I was told this afternoon [Tuesday] that Everton were one of the clubs who were also interested in signing him. Now, I’m not saying it’s going to happen; it’s unlikely that is going to happen.

“Obviously, he’s a player who costs what, £60m-65m? He’s available on loan at the moment, so lots of different clubs are looking at him. I think PSG are the most likely destination for him, but Everton, also a club who would be interested in getting him if they could.”
