Rangers fans react as Juninho Bacuna closes in on move to Birmingham City

Birmingham City are reportedly close to signing Rangers midfielder Juninho Bacuna.

The 24-year-old joined the Scottish champions from Huddersfield on a permanent deal in the summer, but didn’t establish himself in the Gers midfield.

Bacuna has made 12 appearances across all competitions this season, and failed to command a regular starting spot under former boss Steven Gerrard, or his successor Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara were among those often selected ahead of the former Terriers star.

After just six months north of the border he is set for a return to the Championship after enjoying three seasons in the division with former side Huddersfield.

Rangers fans didn’t get to see much of what Bacuna could do, and with his departure from the club seemingly gathering pace, some took to social media to give their views on the Curacao international.

‘Unpopular opinion here but there’s a player in there. Would rather we got players like barker, firth, and hastie off the books first.’

‘Brilliant, I think he's too laid back not one that will be chasing round the pitch trying to get the ball or cover without the ball ...Happy days if he goes.’

‘Never understand why Bacuna gets such stick from the support. There is a player in there ...Every game he's started he's either scored or came up with an assist. He's not been given a chance.’

‘He’s just another sitting midfielder we don’t need imo. Need another player who’s going to run in behind the striker/play close to the striker.’

‘Quicker he goes the better never rangers class.’

‘All the best to Bacuna, good luck to him, maybe he'll blossom elsewhere!’

‘Shame it never worked out, but Bacuna showed nothing to suggest he's Rangers class.’

‘Bacuna
