I'm a former Celtic B team standout and this is what it's really like taking the leap to new league

Tsoanelo Letsosa was touted as one of the next big talents to come off Celtic’s production line – and insists he has no regrets after rejecting a contract offer at Parkhead this summer.

The young midfielder joined ambitious Belgian First Division side Lommel SK earlier last month after eye-catching performances for the Hoops in the Premier League International Cup. The 19-year-old wants to help Steve Bould’s side push for promotion to the Belgian Pro League and is looking forward to regular first-team football under the former Arsenal coach and assistant manager.

He said: “I did a lot of research about the club and found out how big a club it really is. It’s a really big and ambitious club and a beautiful area to live. It’s a fantastic place for me to play first-team football on a regular basis. The move came around from the games I played with Celtic in the Premier League International Cup. They have a lot of scouts that come to watch these games as we’re playing against Premier League opposition such as Fulham, Wolves and Leicester City.

“These games are massive opportunities to impress and showcase your talent as you’re playing against players from one of the best leagues in the world and you know you will get a lot of eyes and attention.

“It’s a new experience completely compared to my time in Scotland but I’m really enjoying embracing a new culture and footballing environment. It’s more physical and there are a lot more tactical things as well as the style of play.

“The club’s aim this season is to fight for promotion. They finished seventh last year so are looking to kick on a bit. It’s been a positive start to the season so far and on a personal note, I’ll be looking to become a first-team regular and contribute
