Rabbi Matondo earns epic Rangers nickname as Ronald de Boer heart rules head with PSV prediction

Ronald de Boer has pinpointed Rabbi ‘motorbike’ Matondo as the man whose pace could help steer Rangers into the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven in Holland.

The Light Blues speed merchant netted his first goal for Rangers with a stunning strike last week, ahead of the second leg play-off for a place in the group stage. And de Boer - who spent four years at Ibrox which included helping them to a 2003 treble - reckons the hosts are favourites but his old club are not without a chance to win the tie for the second year in a row.

De Boer, 53, said: "I was impressed with the Rangers winger who came on - Rabbi Matondo. That boy looked like he was sitting on a motorbike, he was so fast. All it would take is one slip from a PSV player and that kid would be away and the tie could turn out differently.

"If you look realistically, there is a 70 per cent chance that PSV will make it and 30 per cent Rangers. It also has a bit to do with luck. I have a blue heart though so I hope Rangers win and go through, but I am also an analyst and I think PSV is a better team."
