I’m A Celebrity’s Nigel Farage quits trial - despite wanting more airtime

Nigel Farage struggled to cope in a trial during Wednesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! And had to quit halfway through. The former MP had to face the trial In Too Deep along with Nick Pickard after receiving the most votes from viewers.

When they arrived at the clearing, Ant asked them why they thought they’d been selected for the trial. Nigel said: “Don’t know. They kept picking all the women, so I guess it was time for the blokes to have a go. I can’t see any other reason.”

The pair had to free stars trapped in the bottom of two water tanks by using spanners. But of course, as it was a Bushtucker Trial, they weren’t in the tanks alone and were joined by various creatures, including snakes.

They had 11 minutes to try and get 11 stars. Nick was tasked with finding the first star.

The water levels began rising and although Nigel had water spiders on him, he said: “I don’t mind that, it’s the water that worries me.”

As he attempted to unscrew the stars, Nigel said: “I can’t do this.” Dec said: “Maybe use the rungs of the ladder to help you down?” Nigel chose to pass on the star, so it was Nick’s turn again. Nigel then passed on the next one.

On his next turn Nigel said: “Nick, you’re on your own mate. Pass.” Then on his next turn Nigel confirmed: “No, I’m done, sorry. Can’t do it. Get me out of here.”

The time remaining for the trial was then halved, but Nick managed to get six stars overall. At the end of the Trial, Nigel said: “I wasn’t worried about the snakes.”
