Huge new bowling alley with ping pong, curling and karaoke to open in the Arndale

A huge bowling alley is coming to Manchester Arndale featuring ping pong, karaoke and street food vendors.

King Pins, which already has a base at Trafford Palazzo, will open its second venue and its first in the city centre within the former Sports Direct unit at the Arndale shopping centre.

Alongside bowling, the King Pins venue will offer a range of activities including pool, batting cages, curling, shuffleboard, karaoke and ping pong and will also boast a wide food and drinks menu featuring homemade slushies, cocktails, craft beers and dishes from some of the North West’s favourite restaurants and street food brands.

The arrival of King Pins comes hot on the heels of recent additions to the shopping centre, including the forthcoming chicken fast food joint Sides from Youtube star KSI and The Sidemen. Stores to open within the Arndale this year include Manchester City's new club shop, Moss, and a dessert parlour serving up 'travel-inspired' ice cream and crème brûlée-style bubble tea.

King Pins is operated by Roxy Leisure, who also run Roxy Ball Room which has sites in the Arndale and in Deansgate. The bowling alley will take up the former 28,890 sq ft Sports Direct unit on a 20-year lease. Earlier this year, Sports Direct relocated to the former BHS site in the Arndale.
