How the next Kobbie Mainoo is being nurtured as inside story of Man United starlet revealed

Kobbie Mainoo is the man of the moment at Manchester United right now with huge hopes for the 18-year-old’s career.

Erik ten Hag has called him the “future” of the club while analysts have raved about his displays against Everton and more recently Liverpool. The teenager is remaining humble, though, despite his quick rise that was ignited by his debut less than a year ago.

He is one of a number who have graduated from the United academy over the last 18 months and the next batch are impressing too. MEN Sport has taken a deep dive into Mainoo’s progression and the platform that has been provided for the next youth star.

United are taking a leaf out of Sir Alex Ferguson's book in their nurturing of Mainoo. Mainoo, 18, only made his full Premier League debut against Everton last month and he has since started in away games at Newcastle United and Liverpool.

The midfielder was named the man of the match in the 3-0 win at Goodison Park and he drew more praise from United manager Erik ten Hag following a mature performance in the goalless draw at Anfield.

Mainoo does not turn 19 until April and United are withholding him from media activities, as Ferguson did with Ryan Giggs in the early Nineties.
