Manchester United ‘ready to sell Facundo Pellistri’ and more Man Utd transfer rumours

Erik ten Hag is reportedly willing to allow Facundo Pellistri to be sold with Villarreal said to be lining up a bid this month.

The winger has played 13 Manchester United matches this season, but has failed to start a game since September. He has played just 81 minutes of Premier League football since then and thus has been linked with an exit ahead of deadline day.

MEN Sport understands that the attacker is attracting loan interest from a number of clubs amid his lack of game time. The Sun now reports that Villarreal are lining up a permanent bid for the 22-year-old with Ten Hag apparently satisfied with his alternative options.

Pellistri, who previously enjoyed two loan spells at Spanish club Alaves, was bought from native club Penarol for £9m in 2020 and the Reds will look to recoup some of that fee with his contract lasting until 2025.

Meanwhile, United will not be making a move for Timo Werner with the striker poised to join Tottenham on an initial loan ahead of a potential permanent switch. The RB Leipzig attacker was linked with a January move to United but The Athletic states the German is set to undergo a medical at Spurs.
